Neon Abyss 2 Wonder Jars: Identity, Use & Conditions
A developer reply gives the standard keyboard controls; check your active bindings and use the 1.0 effects list.

- Controls
- Q/F are the standard keyboard inputs in a developer forum reply dated before the 1.0 launch; custom or controller bindings may differ.
- Version
- The 1.0 notes changed the weapon-XP jar so its souls must be collected.
- Item names
- The official feature list distinguishes effect jars, the empty Glass Jar, and the weapon-XP Hexjar.
Choose by condition
On the standard keyboard layout named in a developer reply, press Q to take a Wonder Jar out or put it away, then F to activate it. The reply is from April 2026, so check your current bindings if you remapped controls. Veewo lists four effect jars: one for weapon XP, one that fills the Faith meter, and two that change character size. In 1.0, the weapon-XP jar releases souls that you must collect. The empty Glass Jar and the weapon-XP Hexjar are different items.
Take out the jar, then activate it
A Veewo developer’s Steam reply gives the standard keyboard mapping: Q takes a Wonder Jar out or puts it away, and F releases its effect. The answer was posted in April 2026, before the 1.0 launch. If you use a custom layout or controller, use the corresponding current in-game binding instead of assuming the same physical keys.
The same reply points players to the in-game Codex under Items → Hexjars for a description of what a jar should do. Treat that menu label as the location named in the developer reply; the available source does not demonstrate every current menu screen. A separate 1.0 walkthrough also verbally identifies F as the activation command, but the 1.0 notes do not publish a new key map.
Four effect jars and what they do
Veewo’s Glimmer Heist announcement lists four effect jars. Its Chinese article names them; exact English item-name translations are not supplied in that source, so this table describes them by effect:
Swipe or scroll horizontally to read all columns.
| Jar described by effect | Documented result |
|---|---|
| Weapon-XP jar | In the older announcement, using it fills current weapon XP. The 1.0 notes change it to releasing souls in set amounts; collect the souls to gain weapon XP. |
| Faith jar | Fills the current Faith meter. |
| Growth jar | Increases your character’s size. |
| Shrink jar | Reduces your character’s size. |
The 1.0 weapon-XP change matters: using the jar no longer means the XP is already applied; move through the released souls to collect them.
Keep similar jar and Wonder names separate
The Glass Jar is an empty container-type item: Veewo says to throw it at an item to pack that item into the jar, then throw it again to release what it contains. It is not one of the four effect jars.
The weapon-XP Hexjar is also distinct from a Wonder Jar. In the 1.0 notes it releases collectible souls for weapon XP. A Great Wonder Block is a different block item, not a jar. Similar names do not make their actions interchangeable.
The Steam achievement list includes a goal for using 30 Wonder Jars; this confirms the game’s term but does not indicate how often a jar appears.
Gramophone can chain a previous jar effect
Veewo’s item note says the Gramophone drops a random Wonder Jar and, when you use a jar, also releases the previous jar’s effect. This is a documented extra effect, not a claim that every jar automatically repeats or that the same effect stacks without limit.
