Find your next task
36 articles across 4 task groups. Start with the situation that matches your next run.
Runs & Gods
Start a run, find its destination, and follow the game’s encounters and side activities.
- Your first runs
Learn the run loop, resource trade-offs and what to check back at the bar.
- Verified boss names
Steam verifies ten named boss-defeat achievements; dated Veewo updates document additional boss classes and the 1.0 fishing-room hidden encounter. This is a verified subset, not a complete 1.0 roster.
- Check documented boss routes
Use the 1.0 Targets Boss Route Map for current unlock state. Official updates publish selected requirements for Prometheus, Dark Aphrodite, and Dark Zeus; this guide does not claim to show every route.
- Storm Breach
Storm Breach is a faster, streamlined mode available to all players in 1.0. Its published loop is route choice, combat, upgrades, and successive stages.
- Fishing
Find the randomly placed Fishing Room, understand its 1.0 cast prices and catch odds, and separate those mechanics from the still-undisclosed chest-boss trigger.
- Plan Steam achievement progress
See the 1.0 achievement count, the main progress groups and what carries over from Early Access.
Gear & Builds
Choose equipment, understand its upgrades, and connect weapons, badges and item synergies.
- Compare weapon styles
Review official 1.0 combat examples, one attributed 1.0 weapon recording, and clearly dated Early Access examples.
- Understand weapon growth
The official sources describe weapon affixes, upgrade choices, and one weapon-XP source; exact costs, dismantling conversion, and current weapon-swap carryover remain unconfirmed.
- Items and effects
A selected lookup of item effects documented in 1.0 footage and official updates, with older Early Access descriptions kept separate.
- Build decisions
Build around the effects, set pieces, and resources that actually appear in a run. These are conditional directions, not fixed loadouts or guaranteed drop routes.
- Affix Badges in 1.0
Read the 1.0 Artisanism change, compare all 17 Badge entries in a current PC-file reference, and see which crafting details remain unconfirmed.
- Set effects and requirements
Review the six sets named in Veewo’s 1.0 notes, their official English labels and documented changes, plus the limits on member lists and activation thresholds.
- Use Wonder Jars
Learn the standard keyboard inputs, four documented effects and how jars differ from other Wonder items.
- Find the Training Centre
Veewo's published route uses the Black Dog Bar elevator; October 1.0-era footage confirms the room exists but does not show the entrance.
- Understand the six main attributes
Veewo lists six main attributes and an Artifact Extraction / Attribute Gem upgrade route; 1.0-era footage confirms players still check a stat page. Caps and formulas are unpublished.
Agents & Faith
Understand playable agents, Hatchmon companions and the decisions that shape progression.
- Agents and unlock records
Review the Agents named in the available records, with Early Access kits and unlock tasks kept separate from confirmed 1.0 details.
- Hatchmon companions
Separate the documented egg-to-companion overview from Early Access details whose current 1.0 trigger or recipes are not established.
- Faith choices during a run
Review Faith’s advertised run uses, the 1.0 Artisanism change, and what official notes do and do not establish about Faith Rooms and meter rules.
- Blackdog levels, patches, and the bar
Steam lists Blackdog Level achievements at 2, 10, 20, 30, and 50; a PC-build reference lists seven level-linked item unlock tasks. The leveling formula and cap are unknown.
- Fate records and progression
Separate the 1.0 per-Agent highest Fate record from Fate-screen cards/settings and the Evolution progression system; exact value rules and current card unlocks remain undocumented.
- Use the bar music player
The 1.0 notes link the bar player to owning either the game's Supporter Pack or its separate soundtrack.
Play & Support
Compare platforms, set up a group, and find supported controls and troubleshooting advice.
- Choose an official store
Find the official Neon Abyss 2 storefront for your device, check the Microsoft trial listing, and select the matching Windows or Xbox package.
- Check a Steam key before purchase
Verify the exact Steam product, edition and region on the seller's offer before paying, then redeem the code on the Steam account that should own it.
- Release dates
Early Access began on July 17, 2025. Steam displays October 7, 2026 for version 1.0, while the publisher and the console listings checked display October 8.
- Xbox platforms and online play
Microsoft lists Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, cloud play, and handheld support. Xbox Play Anywhere covers one eligible Xbox/Windows purchase and cross-progression within that ecosystem; console online multiplayer has a separate Game Pass requirement.
- Check your subscription
See which US Game Pass listings include Neon Abyss 2 and keep game access separate from cloud streaming and console multiplayer.
- Switch version and compatibility
Check what the US Nintendo listing says about the Switch software, Switch 2 compatibility, player count and online membership.
- PS5 editions and online play
Check the PS5 listing, the base and Deluxe purchase options, and the PS Plus rule for online co-op.
- Windows PC requirements
Compare a Windows PC with Steam’s published minimum specs and see which operating systems are listed natively.
- Online co-op and group limits
See the four-player online limit, the documented invitation path, 1.0 co-op fixes, and what remains unknown about joining and saved progress.
- Crossplay pairing status
Xbox lists cross-platform co-op but does not name its partner platforms. Xbox Play Anywhere separately supports one Xbox/Windows purchase and cross-progression; neither label confirms Steam, PlayStation, or Switch pairings.
- Review & ratings
See what launch-period critics and players praised, where they saw limitations, and which platforms their scores cover.
- Neon Abyss 1 vs 2
Compare the two games by run systems, progression, co-op, and the Steam bundle snapshot before choosing.
- Set controls and display options
A 1.0 reference for PC frame rate, ultrawide displays, controller options and QTE bindings.
- Find the Steam save folder
Use Steam's indexed save path carefully, then back up the folder as a set.
- Choose a game edition
Steam explicitly says the Supporter Pack and Archenemy Returns require Neon Abyss 2. Xbox US lists both add-ons as requiring a separately sold game. The Original Soundtrack is a separate downloadable soundtrack, not the base game.
